Pfizer Vietnam has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Vietnam Pediatrics Association to enhance the capacity of healthcare professionals in the diagnosis and treatment of pediatrics in such as respiratory department, neonatology, emergency resuscitation, infectious diseases, surgery, in the period 2023-2026.
The signing ceremony marks a significant milestone for the long-term partnership between Vietnam Pediatrics Association and Pfizer in the advanced management of pediatric patient to make a positive impact on the community health care.
The main purpose of this collaboration is to cooperate, support and strengthen the capacity of healthcare workers in the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric diseases, through interdisciplinary coordination and instruction on how to use antibiotics safely and effectively.
The Vietnam Pediatric Association hopes to collaborate with organisations and institutions to enhance the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of pediatric doctors and nurses, aiming to further improve healthcare services for children in all regions of Vietnam.
According to the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), pneumonia, diarrhea and malaria were responsible for about 30% of global deaths among children under 5 years old in 2019. In Vietnam, 33,000 children under 5 years old died from preventable diseases.
