Foreword
Twenty years of telling Asia's story. Now let's write the next one together.
When BioSpectrum Asia started out twenty years ago, the region's life sciences story was mostly told from somewhere else. Asia was where medicines were made at lower cost, where trials were run quickly and where multinationals opened sales offices. BioSpectrum Asia was built on a simple conviction: there was a different story to tell, about Asian science, Asian companies and Asian ambition. Every issue we have published since has come back to that belief.
In 2026 we marked our 20th year, and it felt less like an anniversary than a turning point. The region we cover has changed beyond recognition. Asian biotechs now license their molecules to the world's largest pharmaceutical companies. Singapore, Korea, India and China are building the capacity that global supply chains depend on. Regulators across the region are rewriting their rulebooks to move faster. Simply reporting on that shift is no longer enough.
So we have been transforming too. We launched the APAC Bioeconomy Index, the region's own benchmark of how scientific capability turns into commercial value. We introduced The BioSpectrum Asia 100 to recognise the companies shaping the industry by influence rather than size. We built digital editions that let readers explore a full issue online, turned our podcast into a weekly habit, added on-demand webinars, and are launching a multimedia explainer series for the suppliers who power this industry. Behind all of it is one idea: our readers want evidence, not noise, and our partners want a seat in conversations that matter.
The 2027 calendar in your hands is the result. Twelve issues, each with a clear theme, a Country Spotlight and a Global Lens, and formats built so your expertise reaches the people making decisions across Asia-Pacific.
My personal invitation is simple. Find the month, the market or the format where your story belongs, and talk to us early. The best partnerships we have built were never just media buys. They were collaborations where our editors and our partners created something the industry genuinely wanted to read. I would love for 2027 to be the year we build one together.
