The Eurofins network of companies has announced the completion of the acquisition of Labormar. The acquisition is expected to further strengthen the Eurofins network's food and feed, cosmetics, pharmacological and environmental testing offering, in addition to its presence in Latin America.

Going forward, known as Eurofins Labormar, the lab represents the second Eurofins lab in Colombia. Headquartered in Barranquilla, Labormar is nationally recognised as a reference laboratory in the provision of high-quality safety and quality control tests for food and feed products, cosmetics and pharmacological products, as well as environmental management and customized consulting solutions.

Labormar's 90 employees established in 10 locations, consisting of a laboratory and 9 logistics and sampling centers with nationwide coverage, support government agencies, private companies, and industrial bodies and organizations with the highest standards of quality and delivery times.

The origins of the Eurofins network's presence in Latin America date back to 2001, when Eurofins Genescan first established its presence in Brazil with the opening of an office in São Paulo, soon followed by the opening of a laboratory. Since then, the Eurofins network of companies has continued its expansion in the Latin American continent, with more than 15 laboratories in 5 Latin American countries that now operate in the segments of clinical diagnostic testing, food, environmental, pharmaceutical, agroscientific and agrosciences, as well as offering specialised consulting and auditing services.
