Sinovac Biotech, based in China, has signed a letter of agreement with the Ecuadorian Ministry of Public Healthin Quito on industrial unit for the manufacture of vaccines against COVID-19 and other diseases.
This is the first letter of agreement signed by Sinovac with the governmental authority of a country other than China , signaling a new stage in the company's global reach.
The Minister of Health of Ecuador, Dr. Ximena Garzón Villalba and Sinovac's Senior Director of International Busiess Tang Zijian signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
The vaccine factory will facilitate the transfer of relevant technologies between Ecuador and China and will improve the knowledge and skills of doctors in Ecuador.
In addition, medical scientists from both countries will be able to participate in collaborative research, as well as collectively accumulate knowledge and data, with the aim of improving the capacity to deal with epidemics and chronic diseases.
