LMD-43M1MD is ready to meet the increasing demand for immersive, high-resolution visualisation in surgical procedures

Sony announces the launch of the LMD-43M1MD1 , a 43” 4K 2D Mini LED surgical monitor designed to meet the evolving needs of advanced operating environments. As the largest 4K 2D Mini LED display in Sony’s surgical monitor lineup, the new 43” model offers an expansive visual field, ideal for collaborative procedures, hybrid operating rooms, and medical training environments where size, clarity, and reliability are paramount. LMD-43M1MD is ready to meet the increasing demand for immersive, high-resolution visualisation in surgical procedures.

The new 43-inch display offers native 4K resolution (3840 x 2160) with Sony’s renowned image processing technology, achieving wider team visibility, ensuring critical visuals are clearly seen by all members across the operating room, while supporting better collaboration and communication, especially during high-complexity or multi-specialty procedures. Further, in the areas of training and observation, the latest addition will benefit groups of trainees when they are required to follow along in real time.

In addition, the large screen real estate of the LMD-43M1MD also allows for multi-source display, enabling side-by-side viewing of live feeds, endoscopic footage or ultrasound without compromising detail.

“We’ve seen growing interest in larger monitors for advanced procedures like ERCP, ECIRS, and EUS,” shared Leonard Yap, Assistant General Manager Medical Imaging Solutions, Sony Electronics (Singapore). “The 43” model fills an important gap in the market — offering high-performance imaging with a size that enables better collaboration between members of the surgical team.”

Like its smaller counterparts, the LMD-43M1MD features: • Fan-less, silent design for noise-sensitive, sterile environments. • Anti-reflective, edge-to-edge flat screen with IP45-rated front protection for safe and efficient cleaning. • A modern, intuitive UI and slim profile that integrates easily into carts, arms, or fixed OR installations.

The monitor also supports HDMI, DVI-D, 12G/6G/3G-SDI, DisplayPort, and AC/DC inputs, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of surgical imaging systems and configurations.

The launch of the LMD-43M1MD (43”) and LMD-27M1MD1 (27”) complements Sony’s existing 4K 2D surgical monitor lineup, which includes the LMD-32M1MD1 (32”) model. With this expanded family, Sony now offers hospitals and surgical teams the flexibility to choose the ideal screen size for every use case — from close-up cart-based procedures to large format teaching and collaboration. Together, the 27”, 32”, and 43” monitors form a unified series build on consistent image quality, workflow-friendly design, and medical-grade reliability, empowering healthcare professionals with the visual tools they need to perform at their best
