Singapore: LanzaTech, a producer of low-carbon fuels and chemicals from waste gases, has for the second year in a row been named in the TiE50 as a leader in entrepreneurship, innovation, and management excellence.

The TiE50 awards are presented at TiEcon 2012, the world's largest conference of entrepreneurs, at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, California. This year's event was held on May 18-19. The 50 winners of 2012 were chosen from more than 2100 promising companies.

Dr Jennifer Holmgren, CEO, LanzaTech, says the company is honored to be recognized for the second time. "Our revolutionary carbon capture technology challenges our current perception of waste and provides a novel route to sustainable fuels and chemicals."

"LanzaTech has the potential to be a key player in enabling energy democratization- that is, offering solutions for affordable and accessible energy for all," she said.

LanzaTech uses a proprietary fermentation process to convert gases (including industrial waste gases and gas derived from any biomass source) into fuels and chemicals.
