UTAR, CMU sign MoU to study traditional medicines

The MoU is intended to further strengthen the partnership and academic exchange between the two universities.

Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Malaysia has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with China Medical University of Taiwan (CMU) to further develop the field of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

The MoU was signed in the presence of the Minister in The Prime Minister’s Department YB Datuk Seri Ir Dr Wee Ka Siong. Signing on behalf of UTAR was its President Ir Prof Academician Dato’ Dr Chuah Hean Teik while CMU was represented by its Vice President Prof K. S. Clifford Chao.

The MoU is intended to further strengthen the partnership and academic exchange between the two universities so that students can enhance their knowledge as well as broaden their worldview.

UTAR hospital is currently in its planning stage and it will cater 250 beds for the western medical treatment in the first phase as well as separate facilities for the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and ayurvedic medicine.
