Dotmatics appoints Takashi Fukuyama to spearhead new Japanese business
Dotmatics, a UK-based provider of scientific informatics solutions and services, announced its extension of operations to Tokyo, Japan. The new direct presence will be led by Takashi Fukuyama, who joins the company after more than fifteen years at MDL and then Accelrys (now BIOVIA, Dassault Systèmes).
Dotmatics develops and commercializes data and knowledge management solutions as well as big data visualization and analysis tools for scientific R&D for the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Chemical, Agrochemical, Oil & Gas, Food & Drink and Personal Care industries. Dotmatics' solutions enable chemists and biologists to register, input and track their data in real-time whilst collaborating securely with internal and external partners.
"The Japanese market is very important for Dotmatics and we are making a strategic effort to invest in Japan. It is one of our geographical target areas for growth over the coming years," said Dr Stephen Gallagher, CEO at Dotmatics. Dotmatics will continue to maintain its relationship with Infocom, the current distributor of Dotmatics' informatics solutions in Japan. Operations at the new Japanese office began on April 1st, 2015. The company intends to organize two free Open Seminars for the scientific informatics community on May 13th, 2015 at the Tokyo Conference Center Shinagawaand and another on May 15th at the Hyatt Regency, Osaka.
