Singapore: Medtronic has announced a strategic partnership with CARE Hospitals to set up Heart Failure (HF) clinics for the prevention and management of Congestive Heart Failure (CHF). The first HF Clinic will be launched in Hyderabad.

"The increasing burden of heart failure is a serious cause of concern all over the world, especially in India. Our PANARrhythMia and Heart Failure Registry (PANARM HF) also showed that the disease onset of HF patients in India begins a decade earlier than in Western patients, underlying the urgency of providing timely and effective treatment," said Mr Milind Shah, vice president South Asia, managing director, Medtronic India.

The HF clinics will be set up by Medtronic Healthcare Solutions and CARE Hospitals to provide integrated care in a patient-focused environment for the diagnosis, treatment, and management of HF. A key focus area would be the education of patients, families, members of the community, and healthcare professionals on HF management.

According to Mr Dilip Jose, CEO, CARE Hospitals Group, said, "CARE Hospitals is recognised for its advanced, complete cardiac care, powered by cross-functional teams. This partnership with Medtronic, a world leader in heart failure treatment solutions, would further enhance our comprehensive patient-focussed cardiac care and commitment to treating HF. We continue to deliver cutting-edge solutions to tackle the rising burden of heart disease in India and the HF Clinics underline our focus on preventing and curbing the effects of the disease."
