Singapore: Western Allergy, the 42-year-old vaccine firm, has announced the expansion of its business into Australia. The company has set up a new office in Brisbane that will provide tailor-made vaccine treatments to people suffering from allergies. The vaccines are formulated into injections and drops at their manufacturing facility in Toronto.

Mr Dan Shrap, owner, said that the Australian government has provided lot of encouragement to foster science and technology in the country. "We looked at the industry down there and saw there was a niche for a company like ours," said Mr Sharp.

He also said that the company was keen to expand further and explore business opportunities in other countries. Elaborating on the growth plan, he said that there was a growing demand for allergen therapies as only three percent of sufferers were treated with immunotherapy.

Mr Sharp explained that at Western Allergy treatments were customized based on a patient's needs. "We deal one-on-one with doctors writing prescriptions for specific vaccines, both injections and drops for an individual patient," he said. The firm also offers environmental control and medical clothing products for people with environmental allergies and eczema.
