Utilising Dexcom's CGM technology and Kakao Healthcare's software and artificial intelligence technology capabilities

South Korea-based Kakao Healthcare has signed a Global Collaboration Agreement for business cooperation in Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM)-based blood sugar management service with Dexcom, headquartered in San Diego, USA. Together, they plan to promote the hyper-personalised digital blood sugar management service business by combining data.

The two companies plan to provide an innovative blood sugar management solution by combining Kakao Healthcare's software and artificial intelligence technology capabilities with Dexcom's CGM hardware capabilities.

In addition, it has been agreed to contribute to the efficient management of diabetes patients by supplying a dashboard system exclusively for medical staff for the gradually increasing spread of CGMs. This partnership is expected to contribute not only to improving the quality of life of diabetic patients and people in need of blood sugar management around the world, but also to reducing socioeconomic costs.

Kakao Healthcare plans to launch a digital blood sugar management service in Korea in the fourth quarter of 2023, and plans to link Dexcom's next-generation CGM devices, the 'G7' and 'G6', to the service. From 2024, the global blood sugar management service business will be launched with Dexcom.
