Bio-Xcell Titanium scheme launches ready-to-move-in facility

Singapore: Malaysian Bio-XCell, a joint venture between Malaysian Biotechnology Corporation and UEM Sunrise, Malaysia, launched Titanium Scheme, the next phase of bioscience parks that are designed to attract biomanufacturers and ecosystem providers to set up their operations at the 160 acre park located in Nusajaya, Johor, Malaysia.

The Titanium scheme will give clients an opportunity to lease land and set up their customized facilities at a managed park with ready infrastructure. The clients will also benefit from the ecosystem enabled by Bio-XCell. The ecosystem includes the provision of specialized utilities required for biomanufacturing such as chilled water, industrial steam and waste water management via the Central Utilities Facility (CUF), which will be offered on a pay-per-use basis.

Clients will also benefit from a myriad of value added services such as business amenities that will be offered at the Central Hub. "Clients can fast track their projects by taking advantage of the ready to move in office space, business services and other amenities once the Central Hub is ready in the first quarter of 2014," said Mr Rizatuddin Ramli, CEO, Bio-XCell.

Until date, a total investment of $69 million (RM230 million) has been spent to create the ecosystem. Bio-Xcell has 29 acres of available land plots anticipated to attract four to five new clients under this new scheme.

"This is an exciting time in our 10-year road map for developing an ecosystem in which biotech companies can thrive in," said Mr Ramli. He added, "Engaging with ecosystem partners and suppliers and creating strategic key alliances is also vital to our development and we are looking forward to working with local businesses to supporting the park's community."
