DSS Imagetech, a leading player in medical and research imaging equipment has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Japan-based CarbGeM Inc., a developer of artificial intelligence (AI)-powered life science solutions to expand its AI business in the Indian market.

CarbGeM was recently selected as one of the "Top 10" startups—and the only Japanese company among them—at the "AI Impact Summit 2026" hosted by the Government of India. Selected from over 4,650 applicants across more than 60 countries, CarbGeM’s AI technology was recognised for its significant social impact in the field of healthcare diagnostics. This achievement underscores the direct potential of AI technology to address global health challenges.

This MoU represents a major step toward scaling the real-world deployment of its acclaimed AI technology in India. By leveraging DSS’s robust development, sales, and service infrastructure in the field of microscopy and digital imaging, CarbGeM will drive the deployment of AI solutions across medical and research institutions throughout India.

Through this strategic partnership with DSS, CarbGeM will deliver innovative AI solutions that leverage image data from microscopes and various digital devices for both clinical and research applications. This collaboration will further expand access to advanced AI solutions across India and other emerging markets, contributing to global efforts to combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and other life science challenges.
