The Ministry of Health in Egypt has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Siemens Healthineers on to launch the first centre in Egypt and the Middle East for developing radiology equipment and providing the latest medical technologies.
The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, along with Chairman of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement Hisham Abu Stait.
Abdel Ghaffar described the private sector as a key pillar in healthcare development plans, emphasising the importance of leveraging modern technology for faster disease diagnosis to improve recovery rates.
Ministry spokesperson Hossam Abdel Ghaffar noted that the meeting also mulled a proposed project to establish a control and monitoring center linked to six hospitals nationwide to expand access to advanced medical technology.
For his part, CEO of Siemens Healthineers Amr Kandil said the company is committed to supplying Egypt’s healthcare system with the latest equipment and devices to enhance patient services.
