Fujitsu Asia and A*STAR to advance AI-based healthcare & medical technologies

Fujitsu Asia to empower research capabilities in Singapore through co-innovation to accelerate the developmental solutions in healthcare and medical AI technologies

Singapore based Fujitsu Asia Private Limited (FAPL) and the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) have signed a master research collaboration agreement for joint projects to accelerate the R&D of artificial intelligence (AI) and converging technology solutions around healthcare and medical applications.

Fujitsu and A*STAR will leverage their respective strengths to translate innovative ideas by developing commercial solutions for the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, by resolving challenges in manufacturing and commercialisation. Furthur, Fujitsu is in a long term partenership with A*STAR to explore technologies in relation to sustainable manufacturing and supply chain resilience.

Under the new master research collaboration agreement, Fujitsu will be able to enter research and development collaborations with A*STAR research entities for a period of three years. The new research projects agreement will facilitate to nurture Singapore's talent pool in advanced medical technology theough Master Research Collaboration Projects.

Fujitsu is also exploring applications in last mile logistics together with A*STAR’s Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTech).
