Good news for cystic acne patients - Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (DRL) launches Zenatane (isotretinoin) generic capsules
Hyderabad: Dr. Reddy's Laboratories launched Zenatane (isotretinoin) capsules in 20 mg and 40 mg in the US. The drug is a therapeutically equivalent generic version of Accutane.
The drug has been launched following the approval by the US FDA of Dr. Reddy's abbreviated new drug application (ANDA) for Zenatane 10 mg, 20 mg and 40 mg.
It is estimated that the market for the drug in US alone is $309 million for the most recent 12 months ending January 2013, according to IMS Health.
Dr. Reddy's Zenatane capsules 10 mg, 20 mg, & 40 mg will be available in boxes of 30 (three prescription packs of 10 capsules), as unit dose blisters. Accutane is a brand of Roche and is indicated for the treatment of cystic acne.
