Cytiva, a global life sciences leader, has opened its first Innovation Hub in Korea, located in the Songdo Bio-cluster in Incheon. South Korea on 30 September.  

The new facility is intended to serve as a cornerstone of innovation and excellence, driving advancements in biopharmaceutical manufacturing and meeting the evolving needs of Cytiva customers in Korea and the wider APAC region. 

Spanning approximately 6 100 square meters, the Innovation Hub features a manufacturing facility to deliver the necessary products used in developing therapeutics, and a customer experience lab for product demonstrations. This new facility is a key component of Cytiva’s comprehensive strategy to address the increasing demands of the biopharmaceutical industry in Korea and the broader APAC region.  

An opening event was commomrated by key government officials from the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority (IFEZ), and the Korea Trade‐Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA). Cytiva leaders and other executives from industry leading companies such as Samsung Biologics, Celltrion, SK BioScience and Lotte Biologics were also present.

In line with Cytiva’s commitment to sustainability, the facility will adhere to Net-Zero environmental impact standards. This will involve the integration of various sustainable building practices aimed at increasing energy and water efficiencies, achieving zero landfilling of waste, and reducing CO2e emissions.
