• The EM Asia RD Medical Lead provides scientific and technical support to country RD colleagues in Emerging Asia
• Responds to queries from country medical colleagues in a timely manner
• Represents Pfizer medical in high-level interactions with regulatory authorities as required;
• Collaborates with Global RD Medical Team

• Works cross functionally with the commercial counterpart making sure scientific information is shared appropriately  

Responsibilities

• The EM Asia  RD Medical Lead provides support to country  Medical Affairs colleagues

• Represents Pfizer medical in high-level interactions with regulatory authorities as required;
• Development, Implementation and Communication of the RD Medical Affairs Strategies to country colleagues
• Oversights countries Strategic Planning Process to provide insight, expertise and medical support to the business;

• Aligns / influences medical teams with global brand functions, where appropriate;
• Establishes vision, direction and role purpose for the region
• Controls / supports the RD in country KOL strategy for the cluster on highly ethical and medical professionalism grounds and brings their input into the medical strategies and plans;

• Devises specific country medical plans on scientifically sound principles that will bring benefits to the patients, working in close collaboration and in alignment with the Global Teams and in accordance with the overall brand and portfolio strategy;

• Implements medical strategies according to the medical plans, across the BU portfolio of medicines, with emphasis on the data generating and the data communication activities;

• Provides medical support and guidance to countries to ensure that the commercial objectives of each medicine are realized through adherence to the highest ethical, legal, regulatory standards;
• Provides scientific input to the Market Access strategies and tactics in cluster countries
• Communicates the value of the MA function to internal stakeholders (championing cross functional working, and working with the Global Medical Teams and Country Medical Directors);

• Communicates the value of the Medical Affairs function to external stakeholders, aligning with customer needs, enhancing reputation and bringing medical insights into the organization.
• Partners with the responsible functions with respect to responses to Regulatory, Safety, and/or Clinical issues with potential impact on public health, or a potential impact on the organization's reputation;

Qualifications

At a minimum 05 years of experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry, especially Medical Affairs and Rare Disease

• Comprehensive understanding of the health environment in Emerging Asia
• Deep understanding of the regional health environment including its structure, policy, key members and scientific societies;

• Profound knowledge of relevant international Codes of Practice, guidelines and regulations as well as applicable Pfizer SOPs;
• Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacovigilance and regulatory legislation and the drug development process and how these aspects impact the product portfolio;

• Fluency in business English;
• Ability to analyze, define and convey complex concepts and strategies and to communicate these to demanding external and internal customers;

• Excellent strategic skills including creativity and effectiveness in identifying and addressing major strategic challenges together with the ability to balance short-term needs and long-term vision.

Technical

• Medical Doctor/non MD  with solid education and experience;

Managerial

General business management experience.
