Taiwan's lifesciences market reaches $3 billion in sizetaiwan

• The Taiwan Food and Drug Administration has revealed yet another list of drugs for product warnings and recalls after they were found to be tainted with industrial grade magnesium carbonate. The FDA's list includes a total of 19 manufacturers and 23 over-the-counter products.
• In a bid to improve healthcare facilities in Sierra Leone, the Taiwan-based Buddhist Tzu chi Foundation has offered to adopt eleven healthcare facilities in the country. The Foundation plans to improvise healthcare delivery services by equipping the hospitals with infrastructure, facilities and expertise.
• Taiwan government has launched a new industrial incubation center in Hsinchu Biomedical Science Park. The facility is expected to provide comprehensive support for businesses and R&D work on high-end medical materials and new medicine and also propel local startups to join the international industrial chain.
• Pharma companies from China and Taiwan have recently convened a forum, co-organized by the Taiwan-based Institute for Biotechnology and Medicine Industry (IBMI) and the China Pharmaceutical Innovation and Research Development Association, seeking to strengthen ties between the two countries and boost new drug development.
