Showcasing Innovative Advances in Biomedical Technology
The Healthcare+ Expo Taiwan 2024, held from Dec. 5 to Dec. 8 at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, showcased the latest innovations, emerging technologies, and transformative approaches to health and well-being. The event cemented its reputation as Asia’s premier platform for healthcare and biotech advancements.
Leaders in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and health management gathered to present groundbreaking solutions, while numerous conferences on the sidelines brought global expertise and visionaries together.
The 2024 Healthcare+ Expo focused on medicine, health, and care, highlighting Taiwan’s burgeoning biotechnology industry. With over 1000 booths representing participants from 51 nations, the event emphasized three key themes: efficient, smart, and innovative healthcare.
Attendees explored cutting-edge products and services, ranging from advanced diagnostics to AI-driven solutions. The Global Innovation Pavilion featured award-winning technologies and groundbreaking ideas from six countries, drawing considerable interest from professionals and investors alike.
Medical innovations, such as 3D-printed devices and applications of artificial intelligence in precision medicine, were prominently displayed. These advancements underscored Taiwan’s leadership in leveraging emerging technologies to address global healthcare challenges.
In a nod to holistic health, exhibitors also showcased natural remedies and functional foods. The Taiwan Agricultural Health Pavilion stood out for its innovative approach to combining traditional wisdom with modern science, attracting interest from both local and international visitors.
Taiwan’s government-backed research institutions, including Academia Sinica, the Industrial Technology Research Institute, and the Ministry of Health and Welfare, highlighted their contributions to healthcare innovation. Universities showcased advancements in smart hospitals, preventative care, and AI-driven applications, reaffirming Taiwan’s position as a global leader in medical technology.
The Med X Tech Summit and the Asia-Pacific Precision Cancer Forum were pivotal elements of the expo. International and interdisciplinary experts delved into topics such as personalized care, early detection technologies, and digital health ecosystems.
The forum’s keynote session featured Pan-Chyr Yang, Vice President of IBMI, who discussed the prospects and innovative applications of global precision cancer medicine. Yueh-Ping Liu, Department of Medical Affairs at Taiwan’s Ministry of Health and Welfare, introduced Taiwan’s role as a leader in precision cancer medicine and the importance of international cooperation in advancing cancer treatments.
Taiwan President, who spoke at the opening ceremony, highlighted Taiwan’s strengths in medical innovation, supply chain integration, and biotechnology and emphasized that Taiwan’s role as a global hub for healthcare innovation continues to grow, thanks to its top-tier technology and robust research ecosystem.
