Chime Biologics, a China-based biologics CDMO dedicated to enabling partners’ success, and South Korea-based Daewoong Pharmaceutical, have announced the signing of a strategic partnership agreement for the development and manufacturing of a dupilumab biosimilar candidate referencing Dupixent.
Through this partnership, Chime Biologics will leverage its extensive end-to-end biosimilar development and commercialisation experiences, advanced AI-enabled development platform (Chime AI Platform), and the rapidly evolving bioprocess supply chain ecosystem in China (Chime Innovation Alliance) to support Daewoong Pharmaceutical’s global biosimilar ambitions.
The dupilumab biosimilar marks Daewoong Pharmaceutical’s full-fledged entry into the biosimilar sector as a key long-term growth engine.
Referencing Dupixent, one of the world’s best-selling biologics co-developed by Sanofi and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, the programme targets a rapidly expanding global immunology market driven by increasing demand for therapies treating atopic dermatitis and other Type 2 inflammatory diseases.
According to industry estimates, Dupixent achieved approximately $17.8 billion in global sales in 2025, reinforcing its position as a blockbuster biologic and a highly attractive target for biosimilar development.
