Belgium 3D printing firm forays into Japan

Materialise NV, a Belgium-based provider of 3D software and sophisticated 3D printing solutions, and a pioneer in medical image-based guided technology, has signed a 5-year partnership agreement with Japan Medical Dynamic Marketing Inc. for Materialise's guide system for Total Hip Replacement.

Commenting on the partnership, Jeroen Dille, Director of Materialise's Clinical Unit, said, "We are excited to make our technology available to more patients in Japan through our partnership with Japan MDM. Japanese surgeons working with Japan MDM's implants will be able to plan their surgeries in 3D and use 3D printed patient-specific guides."

Mr. Okawa, President of Japan MDM, said, "We are very pleased to have the technology of Materialise NV available for Japanese patients and surgeons, and expect this technology will help Japanese surgeons to facilitate more appropriate Patient Matched surgeries to Japanese patients with 3D Printed Patient-Specific guides."
