Shanghai Ark Biopharmaceutical, or ArkBio, has completed dosing across all healthy-volunteer cohorts in an Australian Phase I trial of AK0406.
The investigational candidate is a long-acting antiviral-Fc conjugate being developed for influenza prophylaxis. The study has now entered its follow-up stage.
AK0406 is designed by conjugating antiviral molecules to an antibody Fc fragment. ArkBio is developing the candidate to provide sustained protection before and after exposure to influenza viruses, with potential therapeutic use also being evaluated.
The Phase I programme is assessing the candidate’s safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetic profile in healthy participants.
According to the company, preclinical studies showed activity against influenza A and B viruses. The candidate also retained Fc-mediated effector functions and produced a prolonged protective effect in preclinical models.
ArkBio began the Australian study after dosing the first participant cohort in April 2026 and has since progressed through the remaining planned dose groups.
The company will use the follow-up data to support decisions on subsequent clinical development of AK0406.
