Singapore: As MERS is multiplying incessantly, authorities in Indian state Andhra Pradesh, have issued an advisory to travelers urging them to take due precautions against the virus.

The Andhra Pradesh director of Health Ms Aruna Kumari said, "Though no cases of MERS have been reported in the state, as a precautionary measure, we have decided to put up screening centers for travelers at Shamshabad and Vishakhapatnam airports."

She added that passengers from the Middle East will be provided with assistance if they show any flu-like symptoms. She further said that posters mentioning necessary precautions to be taken are displayed at airports.

The deadly virus is sweeping through the Arabian Peninsula resulting in more than 800 victims. Fears are increasing, ahead of the Hajj pilgrimage in October which may result in widespread epidemic across geographies.

Though mode of transmissions and cure for the disease is still in dark, experts are now speculating that the spread could also have been a bioterrorism act.
