USFDA to train local markets to build Indian exports
Singapore: As a measure, to improvise on Indian exports, the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) has deputed three senior drug inspectors from the country to Ahmedabad, for a training session on quality assurance with local drug exporters, as per the Food and Drug Control Administration (FDCA), the local drug regulator in Gujarat.
"The trainings will stress upon documentation, rather than quality," said Mr H G Koshia, the commissioner of the Gujarat FDCA. He mentioned that the training was an outcome of the meeting with Mr Altaf Ahmed Lal, where the issue of capacity building and training of exporters was discussed. The sessions will also have academic representations.
USFDA has organized a training this week in Ahmedabad, which is set to familiarize local markets with the US regulations and minimize compliance issues.
