Tokyo Medical and Dental University (TMDU) and Fujitsu Limited are developing a system that reduces the burden on the medical field related to the medical treatment of viral infections.
The system will verify the effectiveness of AI that predicts the severity of the disease based on the medical information of patients with coronavirus pneumonia and the amount of nursing work associated therewith.
In the joint research, AI system will determine the incidence of new coronavirus pneumonia using chest X-rays and predicts aggravation based on medical information such as blood tests and medical history.
The prediction data utilizing AI quantifies the workload of nurses involved in the treatment of patients with viral pneumonia. The system will be designed to verify the effectiveness of a wide range of patients, including the bed movement schedule.
Through this joint research, the two companies will promote digital transformation (DX) in the medical field, support a wide range of medical settings such as medical treatment of doctors, placement planning of nurses, bed management. Joint venture aims to contribute to hospital management.
