Global experts discussed trending healthcare concerns and opportunities at the Congress

Singapore: The World Medical Tourism Congress, an event that attracted global experts to discuss on innovative healthcare solutions, was held in Taipei. The event garnered more than 400 participants from countries like Japan, China, India, Singapore, Thailand, Nigeria and Pakistan.

The event was hosted by Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and the US based Medical Tourism Association.

Twenty speakers from across the globe delivered keynote speeches addressing the trending issues in healthcare.

TAITRA president and CEO Mr Peter Huang said in an opening speech, "Taiwan has been recognized worldwide for the high quality medical services available. We believe that Taiwan would play an instrumental role in shaping healthcare for the future."

He said that Taiwan's medical services were growing at an accelerated pace and with the establishment of five international medical service liaison centers at Taiwan's major airports, the country soon aimed to develop its services as an international brand.

Ms Renee Marie Stephano, president of the Medical Tourism Association said that impact of more facilities have created the perfect conditions to extend medical tourism opportunities to our neighbors. She added that Taiwanese hospitals would benefit from cross-strait economic, education and research, and medical tourism traveler exchanges.
