Singapore: National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) in Taiwan hosted International Symposium on Wound Repair and Regeneration to explore the fundamental approaches regarding regenerative medicine with approximately 200 scholars from the world including America, UK, France, and Japan.

Mr Hwung-Hweng Hwung, president, NCKU, said, "Regenerative medicine has great potential, but the main challenge is how to harness this power. Injuries can lead to repair or regenerative responses."

Mr Cheng-Ming Chuong from the University of Southern California, said, "One of the fundamental issues about the tissue regeneration is the ability to reform the organized patterns.Regenerative medicine has great potential, but the main challenge is how to harness this power. A total of 13 renowned experts in the field of regenerative medicine were invited to give talks in the symposium, including Mr David Gardiner from the University of California, Irvine; Mr. Jonathan Slack from the University of Minnesota; Mr Malcolm Maden from the University of Florida; Mr Shigeru Kondo from Osaka University, and Mr John Foley from Indiana University.
