The 12th Smart City Summit & Expo (SCSE) will bring together 2,500 international partners, 560 exhibitors, and 35,000 professionals to showcase AI-driven urban innovation, AI-powered healthcare advancements, sustainability, and governance, reinforcing Taiwan’s leadership in smart technology and digital transformation.
The Smart City Summit & Expo (SCSE) 2025, now in its 12th edition, is set to be the most influential event for AI-driven smart city transformation, attracting 2,500 international partners, 560 exhibitors, and 2,000 booths. With an expected 35,000 professionals and buyers, the event marks a 40% growth in footfall, reinforcing Taiwan’s position as a global hub for smart technology, sustainable supply chains, and AI-powered governance.
Led by the Taipei and Kaohsiung City Governments, SCSE 2025 will facilitate intercity collaborations, connecting policymakers, businesses, and innovators to drive sustainability, AI integration, and digital governance. The expo will feature 360 high-level forums, showcasing Taiwan’s cutting-edge AI applications in urban infrastructure, emergency response, and healthcare.
Taipei: A Founder-Built AI-Driven Smart City
Taipei City, under the leadership of Mayor Chiang Wan-an, continues to spearhead the “T.A.I.P.E.I.” AI Strategy, which focuses on:
Promoting AI Development – Encouraging innovation in logistics, smart mobility, and citizen services.
AI Governance & Ethical Regulation – Establishing policies to ensure secure and responsible AI implementation.
Enhancing AI in Public Services – Transforming urban planning, emergency response, and healthcare through AI-driven solutions.

Taipei's Citizen Helpline ( 199 ) now enabled AI System enhancing public service efficiency, smart navigation, and digital transcription, while Taipei Fire Department’s AI System optimizes emergency response and resource allocation. The Smart Healthcare Initiative integrates AI for mental health and smart diagnostics, improving accessibility and efficiency in public health services.
Kaohsiung: The Smart Lighthouse City and AI-Driven Sustainability
Kaohsiung City Government, led by Deputy Mayor Charles Lin, is pioneering Taiwan’s next-generation AI urban development through the Kaohsiung Intelligent Lighthouse Program—a model smart city initiative focusing on sustainability, AI governance, and digital innovation.
Speaking at SCSE 2025, Deputy Mayor Charles Lin emphasized five key elements driving Kaohsiung’s transformation:
Net-Zero Initiative & Sustainability – Kaohsiung is implementing real-world projects for carbon neutrality, positioning itself as a leading sustainable AI-powered city.
