Singapore: Singapore has unvieled Fusionopolis Two, a new R&D hub for bringing public and private sector together to pursue research and innovation in collaboration.

Inaugurated by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, the facility is located at one-north's Fusionopolis cluster and aims to support knowledge creation in science and technology to spur new areas of economic growth for Singapore.

"The physical elements of Fusionopolis go beyond just being conducive for collisions, collaborations and co-innovations among and between the collocated researchers from both the public and private sectors; more importantly, it is to catalyse a further shift in cooperative and collaborative culture. We will also work with our partners in the universities, hospitals and the public and private sector to bring about a similar change in the wider research community. SG50 reminds us that we are where we are today because of our people and the collective will to want to progress and improve our lives. When we can work well together, there are really no problems that we cannot solve and no challenges that we cannot overcome. Collectively, we will realise our Smart Nation vision and there will be much for us to celebrate at SG100," said Mr Lim Chuan Poh, chairman, Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR).
