UP Healthcare has opened a $20 million purpose-built facility to support the growing logistics needs of Singaporean companies in the healthcare sector.

The 8,700 square metre facility, located at Gul Circle, is easily accessible to PSA Terminals, the manufacturing cluster at Tuas Biomedical Park and the future seaport at Tuas. It can store healthcare products between -80 degrees and 25 degrees Celsius. Additionally, it provides additional value-added services such as packaging, labelling, returns logistics, and local customs brokerage in accordance with GDPMDS, ISO 13485, and GMP standards.

UPS now has more than 19,000 square metres of healthcare warehousing space in Singapore, adding to its dedicated healthcare facility at the Airline Logistics Park of Singapore (ALPS).

The new facility is the latest in a series of recent developments by UPS to increase its healthcare logistics portfolio in Singapore. In late 2022, UPS launched UPS Premier, its best-in-class service for time-sensitive, temperature-sensitive, and patient-critical products in Singapore. UPS Premier uses state-of-the-art RFID sensors built into the package labelling to narrow visibility down to three metres within the UPS network.

“By expanding our healthcare logistics footprint into Singapore's west, we enhance our ability to combine ocean and air shipments. Data from UPS’s intra-Asia study, released earlier this year, reveals Singapore's healthcare sector is key to achieving its trade growth potential BY 2030. Our experience as a world leader in complex healthcare logistics ensures businesses in Singapore can access the services they need” said Ianne Loh, Vice President, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, UPS Healthcare.

Moreover, the company recently doubled its package handling capacity at Changi Airport. The expansion included the installation of temperature-controlled storage, coolers, and freezers for onsite storage of temperature-sensitive healthcare products.
