Singapore: Singapore medtech startup Healint, that develops mobile apps for chronic diseases, has raised over $1 million in second round of seed funding. The company said that the money will be used for expansion into overseas markets such as Japan, and eventually the rest of Asia.
Healint, hopes to provide the best "remote" patient care to sufferers of chronic disorders, by leveraging technology, data and health analytics. Its Migraine Buddy app, akin to a "virtual doctor", helps migraine sufferers track, analyze, predict and manage their migraine episodes.
Healint's first app, JustShakeIt allowed stroke patients to inform their near and dear ones in case of emergency. Ms Veronica Chew, co-founder and chief marketing officer, Healint, said,"The incidence of stroke is not as high as that of migraines. As Healint is primarily data-driven, focusing on migraine tracking will give us more data to tap. Healint had earlier raised about S$400,000 in angel funding from JFDI Asia, Sublime IP, Shin Ryoku Trust and private investors."
