By funding research for improving healthcare delivery in the country

The Health Research Council of New Zealand has announced the recipients of Round 1 of its Health Delivery Research Activation Grants and Health Delivery Research Career Development Awards.
The goal of these investments is to fund research that directly contributes to improved health delivery by informing decisions or changes to policy, practice or systems in the New Zealand health and disability sector. Our congratulations to all the recipients.
The recipients of Round 1 of 2022 Health Delivery Research Activation Grant are working on projects such as- Translating Pacific health research to improve Pacific housing; Conceptualising relationships between disabled people and support workers; Donor identity in Aotearoa New Zealand; Developing an automated image-based dietary assessment tool; Exploring the essential elements of a long COVID clinic; Setting the research agenda for paediatric rehabilitation, to name a few.
On the other hand, winning projects of Round 1 of 2022 Health Delivery Research Career Development Award include- Describing care pathways for patients with delirium discharged from hospital; Anti-racism praxis and Māori health professional workforce development; A clinical prediction model to risk stratify children at paediatric ED triage.
