B2B exhibition featured not only domestic and international companies, but also major organisations in the life sciences field
Korea Life Science Week 2023, where one can grasp the latest research and development technologies and trends in the field of life sciences in South Korea, has concluded successfully.
Held from Nov 14 to the 16 at Hall B(1F), COEX in Seoul, this event provided a valuable opportunity to evaluate the future of the Korean bio-health industry.
Various exhibition booths and innovative technologies, along with research findings, offered insights into the prospects and possibilities in Korea's life science sector.
B2B Exhibition and Group Pavilion
The B2B exhibition featured not only domestic and international companies, universities, and research institutes but also major organisations in the life sciences field operating joint booths, presenting special programmes and innovative ideas.
Key participants included companies such as ShinYoung EST, Young Sciences, Nature Cell, Acrobiosystems, Clarivate, HoneyWell, and others. In total, over 150 companies participated, encompassing promotion areas for converged medical products, advanced regenerative bio promotion, a joint pavilion for bio startups, a joint pavilion for Hongneung Gangso Special Zone, a joint pavilion for Chungbuk Bio, and joint pavilions for Belgium and Denmark.
Korea Lab Autumn - Introduction of a New Research and Experimental Analysis Equipment Exhibition
Additionally, the organisers introduced and hosted Korea Lab Autumn, a new event focused on the research and experimental analysis equipment market in the life sciences. Through this addition, it is expected that cutting-edge research and experimental analysis equipment and services will contribute to the advancement and innovation of the life sciences, playing a role in leading new discoveries.
Investment Forum and Conferences
In the Investment Forum, the Korea New Drug Development Research Association, the Pharmaceutical and Bio-Business Development Research Society, and the Bio-Health Investment Consultative Group jointly organised the '2023 2nd Promising Bio Venture and Startup Investment Forum' and the '2023 Research and Development-Centric Excellent Pharmaceutical and Bio Company Investor Relations (IPIR)' on the 16th (Thursday).
This investment forum is the largest event of the second half of 2023, where promising bio ventures and startups, as well as research and development-centric excellent pharmaceutical and bio companies, presented their new drug pipelines.
At the conference, under the theme 'Quantitative Data-Based Trends and Future Strategies in the Pharmaceutical and Bio Industry,' the '2023 1st Pharmaceutical and Bio-Health Statistics Forum' was held on the 14th (Tuesday). The forum provided updated information on market trends, technology and patents, licensing, M&A, and various developments in each sector surrounding the bio-health industry based on quantitative data.
On the same afternoon, the '2023 2nd Pharmaceutical and Bio Business Development Strategy Forum' was held with the theme 'Open Innovation Strategy for Securing New Modalities in Bio-Health.' The forum aimed to share strategies and models for the development of an open innovation strategy in the process of establishing strategies for securing innovation productivity and new modalities in the global bio-health market.
On the second day, the 15th (Wednesday), the '4th Advanced Regenerative Medicine Development Strategy Forum' was held under the theme 'Innovation of the Bio-Industry Opening a New Era: Advanced Regenerative Medicine.' Co-hosted by the Advanced Regenerative Medicine Industry Association and the exhibition, this forum covered various topics such as legal understanding of autologous advanced bio-pharmaceutical administration, application cases of advanced regenerative medicine clinical research, current and future prospects of exosome therapy, and CAR Technology in the era of CAR-immune cell therapy.
International experts and thought leaders enriched discussions on a variety of topics such as life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, genomics, and healthcare through this forum and conference. The event facilitated idea exchange, contributing to the development of the life sciences industry and paving the way for advancements in the direction it should take.
2023 Korea Life Science Week conducted partnering activities for open innovation in the bio-health industry. Collaboration efforts, including joint research, licensing, marketing partnerships, technology transfers, acquisitions, joint ventures, investment attraction, and production partnerships, were initiated with participating companies during the exhibition period at the partnering zone within the exhibition hall. Additionally, the organisers hosted a global networking reception titled "KOLS Beer Party," providing an opportunity for networking among participating companies and attendees.
