Singapore: Taconic Biosciences, a global leading provider of genetically modified animal models to researchers, recently announced the expansion of its existing agreement with Japan's Micell Trading Corporation to continue the supply of transgenic animal models for scientists in Japan.
As per the agreement, Micell will distribute Taconic's genetically engineered models in Japan including the unique Taconic transgenic models portfolio of more than 60 transgenic rats and mouse models. Micell Trading Corporation also has the rights to distribute Taconic's Emerging Models portfolio of researcher-sponsored models, and the Knockout Mouse Repository of over 4,000 genetically modified mouse lines.
Mr Robert J Rosenthal, CEO, Taconic Biosciences, said, "We continue to see strong and increasing demand for quality lab rodent models in the Asia-Pacific region, particularly genetically modified models. The deal will help provide critical tools to Japanese biomedical researchers."
Mr Shinya Abe, president, Micell Trading Corporation, said, "We are delighted with this opportunity to provide Taconic's sophisticated models to Japanese research organizations. The agreement aligns perfectly with our own strategy to provide the most scientifically relevant novel transgenic rat and mouse models for in vivo research."
