New Delhi: Transasia BioMedicals, one of India's largest IVD companies, was recently conferred with the coveted 'Niryat Shree' Gold trophy by the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee . Instituted in the year 1996 by the Federation of Indian Export Organizations, the 'Niryat Shree' awards are annually given to entrepreneurs who excel in the field of exports.

On receiving the award, Mr Suresh Vazirani, chairman and managing director, Transasia Biomedicals, commented that, "I am delighted to receive this award. This recognition is an acknowledgement of our continuous efforts to position Transasia as a global IVD company. This award is a true tribute to over 1300 dedicated Transasians, who everyday help thousands of doctors serve millions of patients in India and in 90 countries on five continents."

Coincidentally, the event took place during the same week in which Transasia announced two new strategic overseas acquisitions, Maxmat in France and Drew Scientific in the US. Maxmat is based at Montpellier, France, and specializes in conception, design, development and manufacturing of automated analyzers and reagents in the field of clinical chemistry, hemostasis and immunology, through its Czech subsidiary Erba Lachema. Maxmat will be eventually rechristened as Erba Diagnostics France and will aim to improve the parent group's presence in the French market and French speaking North African countries.

Along with these acquisitions, Transasia has acquired nine overseas companies in the US, France, UK, Italy, Russia, Czech Republic and Turkey in the last three years. Transasia develops, manufactures and markets world-class analyzers and reagents used for diagnosis of over 100 diseases and has the largest installation base of over 30,000 installations in India. With its team of strategic management, experienced marketing and sales professionals and an extensive distribution and service network spread worldwide, its products are sold in India and 90 countries across the globe.
