Singapore: With an intent to reorganize roles and separation of activities, Dr Reddy's has appointed Mr K Satish Reddy as the chairman of the board in place of Mr G V Prasad.

Dr Satish Reddy was the vice chairman and chief operating officer (COO) of Dr Reddy's. Following changes, Mr G V Prasad has been appointed as the co-chairman and managing director while Mr Abhijit Mukherjee who was the president of Global Generics Business has been appointed as the COO.

"Dr Satish Reddy can significantly contribute to achieving a direction for various CSR as well as industry associations at the same time safeguard the brand name while governing the board," Mr G V Prasad said.

Dr Satish Reddy commented on his appointment saying that it was an honour to be the Chairman and that he and Mr Prasad have worked diligently to envision the dream of turning Dr Reddy's to a leading pharmaceutical company. The new roles should help in giving focus to distinct activities as well as internal growth of the management.
