IDMA to conduct the 15th Pharmaceutical Analysts’ Convention 2012 on September 21-22 in Mumbai

Mumbai: The Indian Drug Manufacturers' Association (IDMA) and Association of Pharmaceutical Analysts (APA) will be holding the 15th Pharmaceutical Analysts' Convention (PAC) 2012 on September 21-22, 2012, at Hotel Hyatt Regency, Mumbai, India.

IDMA-APA has successfully organized 14 Pharmaceutical Analysts Convention (PACs) since the year 1997. This year's convention theme is 'conformance to emerging global quality standards'. This theme has been chosen so as to update and exceed the current regulatory requirement and science based systems approach in the pharmaceutical industry.

The event will feature several eminent individuals from the industry, including Dr Kamal Sharma, MD, Lupin, as the chief guest and the keynote speaker; Dr G N Singh, scientific director, IPC and Drug Controller General of India; and Mr Bruce Ross, country director, US FDA, among many others. Dr Nitya Anand, chairman, Ranbaxy Science Foundation, will also be felicitated at the event for his Prestigious Padmashree Award and all his life time achievements and tremendous inputs to drug discovery research.

The various topics that would be discussed in the convention, include toxicology of pharmacopoeial impurities, new developments in chiral chromatography, quality risk management in analytical laboratory, using QBD for monitoring product quality, pharmacoscintigraphy for preclinical evaluation of new drugs and ndds, cultivating a GMP culture, disinfectant qualification, microbial films, labeling innovations and solutions, retrofitting of labs in green way, analytical methods update on technology transfer, and application of separation techniques in pharma and bio pharma.

IDMA is recognized as the voice of the national sector with over 700 members comprising large, medium and small manufacturers spread across the length and breadth of the country. IDMA works with the government on the industry's development plans and various public matters, conducts seminars, workshops, and training programmes among others.
