China is also looking at areas where they can import pharmaceuticals, agricultural, buffalo meat and infrastructure products from India
Singapore: The Madhya Pradesh State Livelihood Forum, India, and Indo-China Economic and Culture Council are goignt o partner in the domain of trade and marketing in various sectors including pharmaceutical and life sciences. Chinese entrepreneurs at the conference have said that they would be looking at newer areas like agriculture and allied products, pharmaceuticals, infrastructure and even railways.
Madhya Pradesh in India has said that it is looking at China to gain an international marketing platform, to acquire latest technical know-how and product design skills for its rural products.
Addressing the conference on 'Haat of India' platform that would be initiated in December this year, Mr Wang Hejun, economic and commercial councellor of China to India, said that, "We are looking into areas where we can import various products from India like pharmaceuticals, agriculture products, buffalo meat and infrastructure. We are looking at construction of roads and other infrastructure too. Also, we will soon explore the power and railway sector."
Mr Kailash Vijayvergiya, minister of Commerce and Industry, Madhya Pradesh, and and Mr Gopal Bhargava, the state's rural development minister, who were present at the conference, said that they would focus on developing exportable rural products.
"We have lot of scope to learn from China so that we can provide a marketing platform to the products made by our rural entrepreneurs at various self-help groups," said Mr Bhargava.
