Singapore: The 2nd Pharma Logistics China 2012 will be held from October 23 till October 25 at Shanghai, China. The conference is the foremost and only gathering of heads from leading biotech and pharmaceutical companies, CROs and logistics solution providers. They will gather to discuss key issues and share best experiences.

The total revenue of China's pharmacy industry reached RMB1.20 trillion in 2011 and is expected to increase by as much as 15 percent in 2012. At the same time, several issues across the entire pharma supply chain have been raised and that need to be solved, including the uncertain regulatory requirements and unqualified logistics providers. Working with partners to ensure both high quality and cost efficiency is one of the biggest concerns for management level staff in many of the industry's pharmaceutical manufacturers and distributors.

China has become one of the biggest clinical trials markets in Asia, with the advantages of low-cost labor and a large population providing a perfect location. More proven cases show that cost-savings and time-efficient clinical trials focus on establishing an important and effective clinical trial supply network. However, the unshaped clinical trial supply chain and complicated/changing regulations are still major obstacles for pharmaceutical enterprises and biotech companies in China's market.

Last year, SCM Pharma China 2011 was also successfully held in Shanghai. Mr Rajesh Pednekar, head of distribution for Pfizer, attended the event, saying he found it to be "very valuable, especially in order to understand current constraints in the world's supply chains."

The 2nd Pharma Logistics China 2012, organized by CPhI Conferences, will build a platform for communicating and the sharing of ideas and experiences.
