Singapore: A new health and medical equipment division has been launched by global technology giant, Samsung, in Australia. The new division, that will be headed by Mr Jamie Brand aims to provide quality care to patients with innovative diagnostic solutions.

The company said that it aims for healthcare providers to provide more patient-centric care while also delivering high quality treatment with its top-of-the-line medical equipment.

Mr Craig Gledhill, Samsung's vice president of its Enterprise Business Team said, "This launch coincides with our first global sale in Australia of the RS80A premium ultrasound systems designed for radiology diagnosis. Samsung is bringing imaging and diagnostic technology innovations into the Australian healthcare sector."

A report explained, combining imaging technology with high usability, the RS80A has advanced the way ultrasounds are captured. With the help of a mobile application, video clips can be downloaded to a mobile phone and updated scans can be provided every time a check-up takes place - far more beneficial than the common black-and-white photo.

Mr Gledhill added that the company has identified healthcare as a key vertical globally that needs to be paid attention to, invested in and expanded, and the Australian region is key to that goal.
