Singapore: After six new human cases of Avian Influenza H7N9 bird flu were reported from China last week, this week too eleven new cases have been reported from the country.

Local health authorities revealed that the 11 new cases that were confirmed to be infected with the H7N9 were in four regions, with eight people in critical condition.

The provincial health and family planning commission said in its statement that four new cases were reported from Guangdong, including a five-year-old girl and a 42-year-old man in Zhaoqing City, a 49-year-old man in Foshan City and a 56-year-old man in Shenzhen City.

The commission explained that while the girl and the man from Foshan are in stable condition, the other two were in a critical condition.

The eastern province of Zhejiang, the region hit hardest by the H7N9 virus, confirmed four new human cases, bringing the total number of affected cases to 69 in the province so far this year, said the provincial health and family planning commission.

Two new cases were reported in Hengxian County in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, according to the regional health and family planning commission. They were a 41-year-old woman, in critical condition, and his 5-year-old son.

A 36-old man in Quanzhou City of east China's Fujian Province was confirmed to be infected with the virus. He is in critical condition, according to the provincial health and family planning commission.

Chinese health authorities reaffirmed no proof has been found that the H7N9 virus is spreading from human to human.
