A new era of global collaboration is opening up in the healthcare sector as the "Belt and Road Initiative" (BRI) advances. A "Belt and Road Hospital Construction and Health Industry Synergy Forum" was organized at the 26th National Hospital Construction Conference (CHCC 2025) as a response from May 24-26 in Wuhan International Expo Center, China. To enhance hospital construction capabilities and improve global healthcare services, the forum will bring together China and BRI countries for a high-level platform for international cooperation.
Enhancing International Collaboration in Hospital Construction:
The Symposium featured China Railway Construction International Group (CRCG), a Fortune 500 construction company. Aside from hospital projects in the U.S., CRCG has extensive experience in overseas projects as well. A range of overseas hospital construction projects is currently under development by CRCG, which were officially announced at the forum. Chile's Coquimbo Hospital and O'Higgins Hospital, as well as Chile's National Neurosurgery Hospital, are among them. The projects will cover a broad range of healthcare-related areas, such as smart healthcare, medical purification systems, logistics systems, medical building materials, and hospital furniture.
The symposium focused on several key areas where collaboration is sought:
Smart Healthcare:
· Establishing an integrated smart building system/ward management platform that integrates BIM digital twins.
· Establishing a medical integration platform to promote the digitization of data and AI-driven applications.
· Joint ventures to advance and implement smart hospital solutions.
Medical Purification Systems:
Introducing high-efficiency purification and disinfection technologies to enhance hygiene standards in critical areas.
Medical Logistics Systems:
Offering intelligent, automated logistics solutions to optimize material flow and management.
Medical Building Materials & Furniture:
Developing high-quality materials such as antibacterial flooring and smart hospital beds for medical facilities.
International and domestic companies explored cutting-edge healthcare infrastructure projects.
The event invited partnerships from numerous sectors, including research institutions, specialized companies across the healthcare supply chain, innovative and emerging enterprises, and global leaders.
