Singapore: If the Forbes news report is to be believed, Microsoft is all set to launch its new health tracking smart watches within the next couple of weeks. The smart watch will be equipped with a heart-rate monitor that will passively track the user's heart rate.
The watch will be able to sync with different mobile operating systems like Apple's iOS and Google's Android. Reports earlier this year indicated that the device would resemble the earlier launched Samsung's Gear Fit with a full-color touch screen view able on the inside of your wrist.
Although Microsoft's fitness band will have some smart watch features, it will be primarily focused on fitness activities. Along with heart rate, the device will also keep a track of the number of calories burned and various other health attributes.
Industry insiders said that Microsoft is also developing separate apps for each mobile operating system to help support the features of its fitness band sensors. The device will have a two-day battery life.
Meanwhile Apple had unveiled the much-awaited smart watches with various fitness apps. The watch is expected to go on sale by early 2015.
