A global biomanufacturing ecosystem is the need of the hour that can serve all low- and middle-income countries, in particular, wishing to produce biologicals, such as vaccines, insulin, monoclonal antibodies and cancer treatments. As more biopharma companies are emerging, and existing companies are expanding their product pipelines, there is a growing demand for technologically advanced biomanufacturing processes to develop innovative therapies. However, a few hurdles are tagging along, such as lack of a skilled workforce and weak regulatory systems. In addition, setting up biomanufacturing facilities or upgrading existing infrastructure requires substantial capital investment. But if all stakeholders get together, biomanufacturing will bring in a new revolution particularly in the Asia Pacific region, which is slowly emerging as a technology hub. Let’s get together and develop ways for making Biomanufacturing a successful practice!
