Singapore: After showering its fury over the West African nations, the Ebola virus is now slowly crossing borders to ensnare global countries into its clutches. Earlier this month, CDC had confirmed a case of Ebola in the US. Now, a nurse in Spain has been diagnosed as the first victim of the deadly virus in the West.

Experts stated that this has raised serious concerns about prevention and control measures as Spain being a developed country, possesses rigorous infection control measures that should ideally prevent disease transmission. The Spain's Health Ministry said that the nurse had treated a Spanish priest, who eventually died of the disease.

Meanwhile, a Japanese tourist has been kept under quarantine in Manipur, India, after she developed Ebola-like symptoms. The tourist had already visited five countries. The Health Ministry said that blood samples of the tourist have been collected and sent to the National Institute of Virology, Pune for diagnosis.
