Singapore: DHL, global logistics provider, has acquired German logistics business of pharmaceuticals company STADA with a deal to manage the logistics activities and sites of the pharmaceutical company in Florstadt and Bad Vilbel, near Frankfurt/Main.

The deal does not comprise the disposal of the infrastructure, but the transfer of 155 employees working in STADA's warehouse, anesthetics and export operations.

Dr Matthias Wiedenfels, Board member, STADA explained, "We are pleased to have found a professional and globally operating partner in DHL, which shares our quality standards and provides assurance for the sites in question."

Both STADA and we see mutual benefit in further developing our business, benefitting from synergy effects. We are delighted to be able to provide solutions that match the planned growth of STADA. In order to cater to their needs and those of additional customers, DHL is planning to invest into a new facility. After a detailed feasibility study we will also decide about the implementation of a new IT system."

Currently, about 155 employees are working in STADA's distribution center and warehouse in Florstadt and Bad Vilbel. With DHL as their new employer, both sites have promising long-term perspectives, not least through the planned business expansion.
