Duke-NUS students have been prolific in research and creating patents

Singapore: At the graduation ceremony of the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School, Mr S Iswaran Minister in the Prime Minister's Office appreciated that there was a constant stream of young exclusively talented students graduating every year from the college.

Ranked as one of the world's top institutions for higher education, Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School has played a pivotal role in focusing talented minds into breakthrough research advancements and creating patents. The graduates of 2014 were no exception with two students, securing a patent for an integrated medical device to diagnose lumps in the neck.

Mr Iswaran added that Singapore will continue to invest in and nurture a strong core of scientific and medical talent. He stated that healthcare needs were very high in Asia, and institutions like Duke-Nus are in a unique position to meet this growing healthcare need.

He added that the institution has been instrumental in continuously feeding young talent into the vast biomedical sciences sector in Singapore.
