The University of Hong Kong (HKU) and Suzhou Kowloon Hospital, under the Hong Kong Kowloon Group, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly establish the "HKU - Suzhou Innovation Corridor", emphasising a close partnership in MedTech and clinical research.
This collaboration will focus on four strategic directions: jointly incubating cutting-edge medical projects and startups; supporting promising innovative outcomes through collaborative investment opportunities; fostering technology transfer and applications by sharing research facilities and expertise; and promoting cross-border learning and exchanges through training programmes to cultivate future talent in the MedTech industry. This initiative aspires to develop a collaborative ecosystem that encompasses research, investment, and talent development.
Professor Alice Sze Tsai Wong, Associate Vice President (Research), HKU stated, "This collaboration will integrate HKU's strengths in groundbreaking research and world-class talent with the clinical resources and industrial platform of Suzhou Kowloon Hospital, creating a robust bridge for translating MedTech innovations to benefit the community.”
