Siemens inks MoU with Taiwan's Yuanpei University

Singapore: In a bid to improve and promote industry academic partnerships, Taiwan's Yuanpei University has inked a Memorandum of Understanding with Siemens. The ceremony held at Guangyu Art Center was attended by high-level management representatives of Siemens directors, teachers and students of Yuanpei University.

The collaboration aims to cultivate and nurture Taiwan's outstanding medical talents and promote industrial and academic exchanges. Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr Erdal Elver, president and CEO of Siemens, said, "Siemens and Yuanpei University jointly set the foundation for an innovative cooperation platform between the health care and academic sectors. Siemens will integrate the resources from our multinational network with expertise in the medical field of Yuanpei University to cultivate talents and create more value in the healthcare sector,"

Mr Lin Chih-Cheng, president, Yuanpei University, expressed his honor to have such opportunity to cooperate with a multinational enterprise and his gratitude to Siemens' assistance in radiation, ultrasound and other medical imaging-related courses and implementations.

Siemens not only passed on the industry's up-to-date knowledge to students through the integration of theories and practices, but also donated medical imaging equipment and facilities to Yuanpei Medical Imaging Museum, enabling the university to enrich its collection and allowing more students and citizens to understand the history of medical imaging, said the company in its press release.
